3 easy steps to get started

1. Begin by registering. Create your secure renter account. You can register here.

You’ll need your mobile phone and access to your email.

We will help you verify your email address and add your mobile phone to enable a secure sign-in. We’ll send security codes to each, verifying they were entered correctly.

You’ll provide your basic info: name, address, and date of birth.

Once registered, you're signed in to your SoftScreen® account’s dashboard. (You can view an example of your dashboard below)

2. Verify your ID with TransUnion to automatically generate your three reports and rental application.

In just minutes, you can confirm your ID, pull your own reports, and receive the first of an unlimited number of fillable rental applications.
This lets you view your screening information before applying for rent. You’ll know exactly what you’ll be sharing with others.

  • You will be asked to provide your Social Security number (or ITIN if applicable). This is provided directly to TransUnion® using a secure, encrypted interface.
    (SoftScreen® does not see, receive, capture, or store your Social Security number. You are communicating directly with TransUnion®)

  • TransUnion® will verify your identity by providing several multiple-choice questions only you can answer.
    (If you cannot answer the questions, you will be asked to call TransUnion®. The needed info will appear on your screen.)

  • Once verified, reports and fillable rental application will be generated immediately.

  • You will be asked to provide payment. You can use any major credit or debit card.
    Your information is released and placed in your secure account and the accounts of those you may have chosen to share with.

  • Your rental application is presented.
    Complete and save your rental application. It becomes the template for all future rental applications you submit when applying for rent.

3. Apply for rent!

Now, you can select a property’s address to securely share everything with the landlord, real estate agents, or property managers.

Wash, Rinse, Repeat!

You have unlimited rental applications and soft pulls of your TransUnion® reports. This means you pay once and can continue applying to rent as many properties as possible. It’s just that simple!

Who has access to your information?

You do! And anyone you have chosen to share with. You always control the distribution of your personal information.

Un-Share. Privacy by Design!

If you change your mind for any reason, you can “Un-Share” the information you had previously shared with others. With the click of a button you can revoke access to any of the reports, rental applications, or documents you had generated in the past.
